The present global economic scenario is leading to a rapid decline in the IT spend by organizations across the world. In this context, this paper introduces the concept of “resource mutualization” as a project management technique and defines the term in the context of the Indian IT industry. Subsequently, elaboration is made on the results that are to intended to be achieved using this technique and also the assumptions and circumstances in which they can be achieved. Discussion revolves around why this is the need of the hour and why this can help stimulate a winning edge over competition.
